Ravensburger Puzzle App Reviews

That moment you realize...

... that you have spent the last two hours using your iPad mini to put together a jigsaw puzzle and come to terms with how awesome that is! I enjoy this game enough to consider making some purchases for different puzzles.

Great puzzles, then theres everything else

The puzzles and presentation are great, but then you get frustrated by everything else. Buying coin packs to purchase individual puzzles, no thank you. Id be fine with something like a bundle of 10 pictures for a certain amount, but when the coin packs dont add up to an even number of pictures so you have coins left over is annoying. Also, the fact that coins can only be purchased rather than unlocked (how about scores without using any tools?) is rather annoying. Even a low, low acquire rate would be fine. Then theres operating the puzzles themselves. Theres some weird magnetic feeling going on where pieces seem to bounce away from each other when moving them around and trying to snap two together. And it is way to easy to accidentally rotate pieces. Simply moving them around almost always rotates them. Im much happier with other jigsaw apps that dont carry the same rep as Ravensburger.

$2.99 for 6 puzzles!

What happened here? Great puzzle interface, however, if you have to buy the app it should come with more than just 6 puzzles. You give "token" coins but I realized quickly that I was short about 50 coins to purchase even 1 pack, thus forcing a person to buy coins! Not good! I dont care how good of a puzzle maker you are.

Great puzzle fun without losing pieces

Love doing puzzles on the iPad. So easy to build with all the challenges and no frustration of losing pieces.

Enjoyable

Fun and enjoyable.

Decent, with a few glaring needs

Ive always respected Ravensberger, so I hope theyll continue to improve this app. Im not a person who whines about spending money on apps, if theyre worth it. I spent money to buy the app and I spent more on coins to buy puzzles. However -- it just feels wrong, the way theyve done it here. There are no ways to earn coins to purchase puzzles. Getting 3 stars, with tools or without, gets me nothing. I bought a puzzle pack in the beginning, not realizing this, and really regret it, as I only like a few of the puzzles in the pack. It basically works out to about a dollar a puzzle, unless theyre part of a pack, then its discounted 10-30% per puzzle (but you have to spend about 7-8 actual dollars in coins). Something Ive seen mentioned many times is the need to be able to lock the puzzle frame to the table, and I could not agree more. It is so frustrating to be rotating a piece to fit it and instead pick up the entire puzzle and rotate that. Ive seen this in reviews from several versions ago, so Im not sure they care or intend to fix the problem. Ive downgraded a star for lack of customer service -- I used the "contact support" button weeks ago with a question, and havent heard anything back. Id like to know what happens to my coin purchases if I delete the app and then reinstall at a later date. Until I know, there is zero chance of spending any more money on coins.

What a Bummer

I have tried four times to do a selected puzzle. Each time the app crashed before I could even see the puzzle pieces. What did I pay for? Several days later: Still a bummer. The app crashes virtually every time I play. And very slow to reload. This app is just too stressful.

Extremely sharp pictures and lots of options

I love puzzles and have slowly added digital puzzles to my collection due to the perils of living with a cat who loves playing with puzzle pieces. I have played another very popular puzzle app for a long time but wanted more features and mostly sharper images. This app is soooo good. You can play up to 500 pieces, the shapes are much more varied and its so much more like a real puzzle experience. It is worth the low price to have this kind of quality at your fingertips.

Fun

Ive done 2 400-word puzzles so far, and Im really enjoying it. The only problem programmers need to adjust is the tendency for a puzzle piece to freeze on screen and not be able to use it. Frustrating. Its always the last piece too.

Great for a small living space

Ive been wanting to play around with puzzles lately, but with a small apartment and no good spot to leave a puzzle in progress this was a perfect stopgap. Its not precisely the same, but its definitely fun and meets my needs.

Great for jigsaw fans!

Its obvious that this app is done by one of the best puzzle makers in the world. It is more than worth the small price you pay. Yes, there are lots of "free" puzzle apps, but this is quality throughout. You cant go wrong!

Easy to use, beautiful graphics!

Very nice program, smooth 3D graphics!

Excellent User interface Kudos!

Im loving this puzzle app. Like the variety and its my new go to calming app. Only thing I would like to add is possibly 1000/2000 die cuts vs 500 max. And the ability to import a personal photo. Great job Ravensburger! I knew I could count on the name for a quality puzzle app!

Best puzzle app!

Great realistic interface; the timed challenges keep the puzzles from feeling old.

Excellent App

This is highly addictiv, awesome execution from the best puzzle company! More free puzzles would be nice or the option to upload your own media.

Ravensburger puzzle

Easy, simple but like all puzzle makes you come back and back and back for more puzzle Really well executed, straightforward and puzzles puzzles puzzles Free to hook cheap to last a lifetime

Very enjoyable

Awesome pictures!

Good game but...

Great puzzles, only wish there was a tray that all single pieces would stay in, I much prefer selecting pieces from a stationary tray. The way this is now, the pieces are spread all over and the table moves so you can find the one you need. The result is too much clutter and when zoomed out the pieces are too small

Its really good!

You wouldnt think they could make a puzzle with 500 pieces work on an iPhone screen, but this app can do it! I also like that there are achievements built in. This is a fun way to do puzzles!

Great for puzzle addicts

Those who enjoy puzzles will enjoy this well done app with its many options. I appreciate the daily free puzzle, but do wish the puzzle packs were less cost.
