Ravensburger Puzzle App Reviews

Good app

I love puzzles and this lets me do them without occupying the kitchen table for days. Plus, no lost pieces.

No more lost pieces!

Its a lot of fun, and there are lots of puzzles to choose from.

Must be lower prices

If prices for the puzzle will be lower , it will be the best game and i will buy the next puzzle . In similar games, for example, pack of 40 puzzles costs 2.99 € . I like all the options and purchase individual puzzles but they have to be cheaper . In addition to this game is perfect but I will have to give up if the prices will not be change.

Disappointing

I loved buying real, live Ravensburger puzzles when my daughter was small, so jumped at the chance to buy it. For $2.99 you get only 6 puzzles, though you can play them with pieces ranging from 20 to 500. But what is really disappointing is that you need an internet connection to work even those 6 puzzles. I didnt see this mentioned in the write-up, nor in the video filmed at GDC. Perhaps I just overlooked something that would have told me this...but bottom line...no puzzling at work! Im very disappointed.

Beautiful

I was so surprised to find this app. It is running great on my iPad Air, with no crashing issues. Ravensburger gives you plenty of coins to buy additional puzzles. Well done!

Excellent App

Bought this yesterday after reading about it on Boardgame Geek. Have had no problems with the puzzles loading, even at 500 pieces. The drop boxes are great for sorting colors. Having a lot of fun with this!

Fun app

Lots of fun but it is a little touchy to work. Keep picking up the main puzzle by mistake. Waiting for fixes to come.

Great app

Very nice app, works well and has a great selection of puzzles.

Nice puzzle game, but...

I wish it was like so many other games that gave you coins if you got all 3 stars! For $2.99 I expected some way of getting more puzzles because of my accomplishments or because I completed so many puzzles. Who cares if I completed a puzzle in four minutes if I dont get coins for it!

Constant crashing....UPDATED

I finally got this working after simply restarting my ipad. Im not sure what the problem was but it is now stable for me. Now that I have it working, I can say this is the app for digital jigsaw puzzles. Great puzzles and very well thought out. You can make it as easy or as hard as you like. I love the way it makes use of space. I can easily do 500 piece puzzles. As far as the price goes, I think those that are complaining are ruining ios gaming. Nothing is wrong with this pricing model. A 500 piece puzzle can easily take 4 to 6 or more hours to complete and you get 6 puzzles to start with and enough coins to buy at least that many more. Thats a lot of entertainment for 3 bucks. If you want a quality app, you SHOULD pay for it. I cant believe people are complaining about that. It would be cool if ravensburger added some weekly challenges or something like that and rewarded completion with some coins just to make it more entertaining but I have no problem paying for more coins to get more puzzles. Its well worth it! I think this will eventually be a nice app. It appears to be intuitive from what Ive seen in the tutorial. Unfortunately, I cant put any puzzles together. I try to do a 500 piece puzzle and it crashes on loading. So I tried a 300 piece puzzle and while it loaded, it crashed as soon as I started to move pieces around. I do think it will eventually be great but way too many issues now. Disappointed!

Disappointed

Would be a 5 star app except: 1) Only comes with six puzzles and you cant import your own. This would be okay but the selection of puzzles to buy is horrible. 2)This is the killer, you NEED an internet connection to PLAY. This is unnecessary and the real reason for the two-star rating.

Jigsaw puzzle heaven

Just like doing a real jigsaw puzzle but all on your iPad, puzzles can be 500 pieces or 20, your choice (so works for all ages) love it, just purchased yesterday and enjoying it so much, thanks guys!

Best jigsaw puzzle app

For those of us who lose actual puzzle pieces, dont have space on a table, etc etc...this is the perfect app and unlike the real, physical thing, it is completely portable!!! My only complaint, and this could be attributed to my large hands, is that I too keep picking up the main puzzle frame when I think I am picking up a single piece. As another reviewer states, "its a little touchy". As someone who has had an iPad and a jigsaw puzzle app since they both were released, PLEASE keep adding more puzzles as this is the best jigsaw puzzle app available!!!

Super implementation, one fatal flaw.

I really think the team who created this application did a super job in providing a realistic jigsaw puzzle experience in a tablet. The product out of the box is better than any of the other applications I have played in this category. I do have to say that I think you should provide a penalty for the use of the buttons that do all the sorting and putting the pieces all the same direction. It is just to easy to use them when in a hurry, and I would not as much if it punished me in some way. I have run into a few strange happenings while playing a few puzzles. I think it is too easy to twist the main puzzle when you actually wanted to turn a piece close to the main puzzle. Also, some pieces when attempting to place them have vanished only to appear in a pile of other pieces some distance away. I’m sure these will be corrected in the near future. Coins for real money? Well, I think they are reasonably priced and I know I will be buying more in the future. It is a great game and hours of fun. I would also like to see what others have suggested by giving some coins as incentives for playing or doing the puzzles multiple times, in a given time limit, etc. Just throw a few other and keep people playing. I think that would drive even more sales as people would want to get more coins using new puzzles, etc. The fatal flaw? As other have said, it is the requirement of an Internet connection to play. I would use this application so much more had I been able to play when I did not have an Internet connection. It is the type of application one would play on an airplane, in line waiting, etc. You cannot do this today with the application. I understand the issue with the store, puzzles being available, etc. Please give us an offline option where we can take one puzzle with us, not all. That would make me rate the game higher.

Very good puzzle app

This is a great puzzle game but it could be better. The biggest flaw is how easy it is to move the puzzle when all you want to do is pick up a piece. Id like the ability to "nail down" the main part, a feature present in an old Windows puzzle game I played years ago. Otherwise this is terrific- good gameplay and well thought out features. Strong choice if you like jigsaw puzzles.

Need to be able to lock puzzle

Its fun. You can lock the screen but you really need to add an option to lock the actual puzzle. Its too easy to pick it up an fit gets annoying.

Great fun

All the enjoyment and challenge of a puzzle without the pieces flying when someone bumps the table, no lost pieces, etc. The selection is good and the ability to do simple or difficult is a great feature! I would love if I could create others by importing from my photo gallery, for my own use only.

Problems with app

Let me just say that I love doing jigsaw puzzles and that I didnt mind having to pay for this app, but I have two issues with this app. First the app keeps crashing on me, even when I re-start my iPad. Second the puzzle will not stay still, it keeps moving around when I try to place a piece. It would be nice if when you get the frame done it would lock in place. If these two problems could be fixed I would gladly rate you five stars.

Save your $2.99

Only 6 puzzles? Poor choice in app purchase on my part.

Ravensberger Puzzle

I like the puzzles, enjoy playing. Ravensberger has been my favorite puzzle company for years. Its fun to do them on my iPad. I do find the pieces a bit small. Perhaps there is a way to make them larger, but I havent figured it out.
